When Citizens Stand for Truth — Our Journey From Research to Action
Citizen Intervention Global was born from the journey of Lighthouse Global – a research community that discovered that when you pursue truth and expose systemic corruption, powerful institutions do not simply let you proceed unchallenged.
Our story is one of transformation, persecution, and ultimately, principled intervention for justice.
The Beginning: Searching for Real Solutions
In 2004, Paul S. Waugh launched what would become Lighthouse Global (originally FranklinWaugh) with a burning question: Why is so much of our human potential unrealised?
After 20 years of working in the personal development and self-help industry, Paul had seen a troubling pattern. Books promised transformation. Seminars sold breakthroughs. Programmes guaranteed success. Yet the results rarely matched the promises. People would read, attend, get excited—and then return to the same struggles, the same limitations, the same unrealised potential.
Something fundamental was missing.
So Lighthouse began as a research community – now in its a 21st year of intensive study to discover the real barriers to human potential and find genuine solutions.
The Research: What We Discovered
Through 21 years of working with thousands of people, Paul S. Waugh made a profound discovery – one that would become the foundation of his forthcoming book, The Sum of All Problems:
“The only real obstacle and challenge to your life will always—and ever—be A PROBLEM, in some form or other. Master problem prevention and solving, and your full God-given potential will naturally manifest itself.”
But what is the root of all these problems? Paul discovered that all human problems—personal, interpersonal, systemic, global—originate from one source: separation from reality.
When we separate from reality, we trigger a cascade of separations:
- Separation from truth — We can no longer distinguish what is real from what we wish were true.
- Separation from principle — We violate the unchanging laws that govern reality and wonder why we suffer consequences.
- Separation from virtues and values — We lose the character traits that define human excellence.
This wasn’t theoretical philosophy. This was the pattern Paul observed across thousands of lives, including his own.
The Sum of All Problems outlines:
- Primary Problems (Inside-In) — Separation, low connection with self, resistance to reality, ignorance of principles.
- Secondary Problems (Inside-Out) — Indiscipline, inadequate vision, knowledge-skill-action deficits, weak belief systems.
- Outside-In Problems — Persecution, slander, lies, destructive attacks from corrupt systems.
- Outside-Out Problems — Fear of the unknown, losing control, neurosis, resource scarcity, learned helplessness.
- Solutions — The Problem-Problem Paradigm (P3), reconnection to reality and principle, evidence-based success.
We discovered that:
- The problem wasn’t just missing knowledge, skills, or action – it was separation from reality and principle.
- The solution wasn’t surface-level technique – it was a fundamental reconnection to truth.
- True human development required alignment with unchanging principles, not wishful thinking.

Our Christian Foundation
The leadership and core team of Citizen Intervention Global are Christians. Our personal faith journey led us from self-help philosophy to Christianity, and that transformation shapes our worldview and values.
For us, ultimate reality is grounded in God, and our framework for truth, justice and human dignity comes from that foundation. However, Citizen Intervention Global serves all citizens – regardless of faith, belief or background – who are committed to truth, evidence, and standing against institutional corruption.
You don’t need to share our faith to work with us, benefit from our services, or join our mission. You simply need to share our commitment to truth, justice and citizen empowerment.
The Cost: Extreme Attacks from Powerful Institutions
The moment our work began to threaten establishment narratives, coordinated attacks began.
The Media Onslaught
The BBC, through journalist Catrin Nye, produced what we can only describe as a coordinated propaganda hit piece – A Very British Cult – intentionally designed to destroy our reputation, our work and our lives.
Catrin Nye and the BBC refused to examine our evidence. They refused to interview those we had helped escape from abusive families. They refused to acknowledge documented cases of severe abuse that we had protected people from. Instead, they platformed our false accusers, some of them the very abusive family members whose control we had helped them to escape.
Weaponised Government Agencies
The UK Insolvency Service was deployed against us with sweeping powers and no due process. Action Fraud investigated and found no fraud… yet the smear continued.
When three of our members peacefully went to Catrin Nye’s home as citizen journalists – bringing a signed Bible and a letter demanding justice, compensation and reform – they were arrested and charged with harassment.
The Real Threat: An Empowered, Informed Citizenry
Why the ferocity of these attacks?
Because a small community committed to truth, human development and exposing systemic corruption represents everything corrupt power structures fear: accurately informed citizens who cannot be controlled, manipulated or silenced.
As Mike Cowan of the BBC put it through his trawling post on Reddit, we are a “Group of Concern.” Translation: we threaten the BBC and ruling class’s narrative control… and ultimately their control of you.
Our Response: Citizens Must Intervene
We could have given up. We could have gone silent. We could have abandoned our mission.
Instead, we chose to intervene – to stand up, speak out, and fight back with truth and evidence.
We realized that if we, a small community with the truth and all the evidence, had nowhere to turn for help, then countless other citizens face the same tyranny.
So Citizen Intervention Global was born – not just to defend ourselves, but to provide intervention, protection and justice for all citizens facing persecution for political, religious, social, or economic reasons.
We exist because:
- Citizens have the right to truth, not propaganda.
- Institutional power must be accountable to the people.
- The vulnerable need defenders, the silenced need voices, and the oppressed need rescue.
- When systems fail, citizens must intervene.
Our Mission Today
Citizen Intervention Global builds on the work that Lighthouse began – focusing on defending citizens against institutional tyranny and building alternatives to corrupt establishment structures.
We:
- Defend those under attack from media persecution and weaponised institutions.
- Document and publish truth when systems try to silence it.
- Build citizen-led alternatives to corrupt establishment structures.
- Train Citizen Intervention Journalists to report with integrity and evidence.
- Pursue justice through legal action, including class actions against the BBC and private prosecutions where needed.
We operate on a simple principle Paul S. Waugh articulated: “Citizen character is realised by how much truth we can tolerate.”
