One of The Most Powerful Institutions in The World That Governs Your Life – That You Have Never Heard Of!

There is an institution sitting quietly in Basel, Switzerland, that unless you work in central banking, we would wager you have never heard of, let alone know what they do.

Yet this institution shapes the financial architecture of the entire world and has done so for the last 90 years. It brings together 63 of the most powerful financial authorities on earth1 and therefore indirectly affects the price of everything you do.

It’s called the Bank for International Settlements (BIS)2. It plays a coordinating role in global liquidity and monetary responses to crises (BIS Annual Report 2023/2024)3

On the surface, it sounds technocratic and unassuming. Even reassuring or even a bit boring. A forum for cooperation. A guardian of stability. A quiet referee of global finance so that credit crises such as 2008 and the great American depression of the 1920’s aren’t repeated.

But let’s look closer.

Why This Matters to Your Life Personally

The BIS operates as a “bank for central banks.” It coordinates monetary policy standards, liquidity frameworks, capital requirements, and crisis responses across the global financial system.

What this means in practical terms for you:

  • You live inside a financial system you did not design
  • You are governed by rules you did not approve
  • You are affected by decisions you will never witness
  • You absorb the consequences of risks you never chose

When financial crises happen, the public does not see “systems.”
They see higher taxes, reduced services, inflation, wage stagnation, rising debt, and increased living costs.

The losses of financial institutions become your long-term burden through:

  • Inflation
  • Public debt
  • Austerity policies
  • Reduced public spending
  • Higher interest rates
  • Tighter credit access

This is how financial power becomes personal harm — slowly, structurally, invisibly.

Unelected. Elitist. Legally Untouchable – Rights That You Don’t Have!

The BIS is not elected by voters. It is not accountable to the public. It does not answer to national courts.

It enjoys sovereign immunity4, meaning it operates above domestic law. Its officials are protected. It even maintains its own security arrangements. No public inquiry can meaningfully compel it. No democratic process can remove it.

Yet it convenes the governors of the world’s most powerful central banks behind closed doors5 to shape financial standards that affect billions of people including you.

Pause on that.

The BIS has more power than any single government!

Being able to make global decisions in near secret is the perfect recipe for Scamtology. Because how likely is it that elite global bankers, far removed from the lives you and we lead, are going to make decisions for the betterment of us and the rest of our fellow citizens over their self-interest?!

Rest assured you and us, the taxpayer, pay for the mistakes of investment banks and the excess risk they took as part of their greed. Indeed Professor Deborah J. Lucas, MIT Sloan distinguished professor of finance estimates the 2008/9 credit crisis cost the US Tax Payer $498 Billion!

These amounts are so big that as citizens we don’t see how these situations directly affect us. But it is decisions made within such crises by institutions such as the BIS that add indirectly to our monthly loan payments!

Extraordinary Financial Power

The scale is staggering. Hypothetically, trillions could be moved between institutions with minimal public visibility.

This isn’t a conspiracy. It’s structural reality: the BIS was deliberately designed to operate independently of political pressure (BIS History)6. That independence is seen by its architects as essential to stability. But independence from politics also means independence from democratic accountability.

The Stability Argument

To be fair and balanced, BIS does perform functions that have arguably strengthened the global financial system and have allowed a greater level of “living standards” in a relatively superficial way, e.g. many surveys of citizen economic improvement will look at the consumer goods that each household now has e.g. number of TV’s, refrigerators, cars etc.

But Stability for Whom?

Here is the deeper question.

When we are told that institutions like the BIS protect “financial stability,” we must ask: stability for whose benefit?

Meanwhile, the public is told this architecture exists in their interest. Yes, Scamtology at its finest!

Now parts of it do. But the incentives are not neutral.

An institution built to be shielded from democratic pressures will naturally reflect the worldview of those inside it. And those inside it are not ordinary citizens. They are some of the wealthiest and most financially knowledgeable and influential people alive, and it’s highly likely you didn’t know they existed let alone who they are.

This is Scamtology of the global ruling class hiding themselves and making decisions that affect you right now. The price of the next coffee you buy will have been affected by the interest rates these organisations set. The price of the coffee beans will have been affected by the actions of similar economic organisations such as the International Monetary Fund7, which we will be writing about shortly.

How the Financial Scam Becomes Normalised

This is the core architecture of Scamtology:

  • Power without visibility.
  • Authority without accountability.
  • Control without consent.

Not through deception in the traditional sense — but through structural invisibility. People do not resist what they do not know exists. Hence they develop beliefs such as:

  • Most people believe they are “bad with money.”
  • Most people think rising costs are just “the economy.”
  • Most people assume debt is normal.
  • Most people believe financial stress is personal failure.

This is one of the deepest scams of all. The system is engineered to:

  • Normalise permanent debt.
  • Normalise dependency on credit.
  • Normalise wages being flat despite costs increasing.
  • Normalise financial insecurity.

You are trained to adapt to pressure rather than question the system creating it. This is not accidental. It is a structural design.

The global financial architecture prioritises:

  • Establishment systems’ stability
  • Asset protection for the Establishment

It does not prioritise:

  • Individual financial freedom
  • Household resilience
  • Debt independence
  • Economic autonomy
  • Personal sovereignty

Stability for systems is not the same as stability for people.

The Real Conversation We Need

This isn’t about abolishing the BIS. For a start we would all be thinking “how on earth could I do that?!” You would also be very correct too. On our own we have very little power and influence. So this is not about dismantling the Establishment.

Yet, at the very least we need to become aware of the existence of these organisations that the Establishment have created so that they can operate their religion of Scamtology. Because power without accountability always needs scrutiny if we are to diminish the risk of being scammed.

Because ultimately, if we are going to have unelected, legally immune institutions shaping the financial architecture of the world, then citizens deserve open debate about:

  • The trade-offs between independence and accountability
  • Who benefits most from the “financial stability” they say they create

Because when institutions operate above the law, above the ballot box, and largely beyond public awareness, scrutiny isn’t paranoia.

So therefore we need to start by building our awareness of the Establishment and how they operate by developing our knowledge. We recommend starting with these two articles that explain what is the religion of Scamtology and who are the Establishment.

We can then start to come together as conscientious citizens to develop the skills and apply our knowledge through lobbying our governments where it is feasible to do so.

As an example, Lighthouse will imminently start to lobby our government on the abuse of power by the BBC. If we can’t lobby against the likes of the BBC, then looking to protect ourselves against institutions such as the BIS is not feasible.

We would love to hear your thoughts on this article in the comments section below.

What the…..

There are no words to describe what I am feeling. On the one hand not surprised, on the other hand shocked, and finally I think I feel betrayed as well. If one was raised with one’s eyes open, perhaps this isn’t a surprise or even the first time you would hear about BIS. But the fact that for me it is the first time I am hearing about this I consider a damning indictment not just the education system but my parent’s education system.

The fact BIS exists at all should be all the evidence you need that we are living in a puppet show simulation, particularly with everything going on in Iran right now. Even if you agree on principle, we can’t be duped to think that’s all that’s going on.

We have years of blindness to the world’s scams to now undo. Thank God for those who are calling it out. Thank you for this article.

I increasingly believe that society, its systems and how the mass population operates is one sick joke to the very very powerful few. We are like a giant lab experiment to them. They clearly have no interest in our true wellbeing, or even sanity. As God says, they have their reward in full now. But they will be literally paying a hell of a price unless they repent.

This is just crazy, the fact that this is going on, all without our knowledge, and they wonder why people are in an uprising about it? Or that is also part of their wicked and evil agenda.. only Satan knows, but ultimately God who created him and all of us. Thank you for this update, and for continuing to shine light on the truth of this world. May God bless and be with us all. Amen. 🙏

Thank you for bringing BIS to our attention. I can guarantee that this is NOT what the establishment wants. They control so much, and now you are revealing how they are controlling the financial industry. I can see the scam of how we can get into debt, but instead of trying to help us get out of debt, we are scammed into getting into more and more debt, through interest rates on loans and on credit cards. More and more adverts are appearing across social media, getting you to check your eligibility for a credit card “It will not affect your credit score” Once approved, we then find ourselves in more debt due to the high interest rates. What you are helping us to understand is that this is all under the control of BIS!

Wow, the Scamtopia of BIS…

This is eye-opening and revealing to say the least! I seem to keep repeating myself, but the more we look at the Escamlishment, the more the scam of Scamtology is revealed. It’s not the case that what’s uncovered is benevolent and a force for good. Instead what’s revealed behind the scenes is dark and sinister. In the 20+ years of education I never learnt about institutions and authorities like these that have shaped so much of my life directly and indirectly.

As was stated, it’s not the case of being anti-establishment, it’s about ensuring citizens are educated and empowered to navigate and protect themselves in this dark world. May God bless and protect our work to shine light on the darkness and open the eyes of the public…

The more I learn about how the Establishment’s systems function and how decisions are really made, the more I see how much our education shapes us to hold an illusory and often delusional view of the world, one that has little to do with truth. Every few years, we tick a box in an election and call it democracy, while powerful institutions and structures operate largely without accountability, influencing the lives of almost everyone and creating hidden systems of control. I believe true democratic decision-making is impossible without having all the facts on the table and yet, accessing the right information and developing the necessary skills is deliberately made extremely difficult. Change is desperately needed!

This is beyond scary. To have such power in the shadows and we haven’t even heard of it let alone know who is in this organisation. The Establishment have so much power.

I am in my late 40’s and this is the first I have ever heard of this! And this was created just after WWI…! It looks to me as though they have secretly created a global bank before they create one officially. Ready for when there can be a one global government to step in and have the systems it needs already in place. This is dark and frightening and even more evidence for me that billions of people have been and are being scammed by a tiny group of global elitists. Not the Gates’ and the Clinton’s etc that most think are the “elites” but the true establishment that those people are the puppets of. The world needs to be educated about this as much as possible!

Wow, I had never heard of the BIS, not ever and again, the secrecy about this institution, reinforces that the Establishment have no desire for an informed and educated public.
When you laid out the four practical terms in line with the BIS, I felt sick knowing that we have not consented to these continual, inhumane violations of our choices, rights, and freedoms. May God forgive those who have made it their mission to try and destroy.humanity through mass deception and scamming.

It makes sense for the heads of banking institutions for governments and commercial entities to meet and discuss best practice and to seek to help create stability in times of crisis. Every industry has something like that.
What is deeply concerning is the level of influence financial entities have over everyone and the level of ‘immunity from accountability’ the BIS seem to have. I agree that removing a level of Red Tape might help in an emergency, but to Never have Any accountability to the people they serve is wrong.

Wow… control! Simple as! The central bank of banks operates without immunity. Where the centre of satan’s earthly operation? In the same place. This is very eye opening.
